“If the path be beautiful, let us not ask where it leads.”
-Anatole France
To me, art is a verb. I enjoy the process of art, the materials, the mystery – I create not because I want a finished product, but because I need to. The finished pieces are actually just a by-product of my creative process – it is the process that is most meaningful to me.
I seldom start with intention, I don’t know where I’m going and don’t particularly care where I end up. I like to let the paint do what it needs to do. I enjoy the mistakes, and take pleasure in allowing them to inform and lead me to a finished piece of art.
