I share that feeling – the more I paint the more I learn about me.
In this series of paintings I set out to take something simple, stripes, and give them a rich history and interest. Like grungy old walls and rust and peeling paint. Add a layer and strip it back to reveal what is underneath. Cover something, but not quite. Make it imperfect and real. And make it slightly audacious with this pink and green painting.
Most of the titles in this series have a deeper meaning, but this one is simple … my husband saw the pink and said “too girly” … but that’s me, girly – grungy bits and all.
