Orange pops up a lot in my work. I don’t intend to start out that way, but I am often drawn to adding it in.
In this piece, the dark orange is peeking through from earlier layers – giving just a pop of colour to the otherwise neutral painting.
Texture is king here, and the quiet details in the layers of paint. I love this work for its seeming simplicity, which, when studied, reveals more complexity.
