The nestbox
A whimsical fantasy bird sitting on a box-like nest.
This mixed media painting is a chunky little one at 6×6” square on deep cradled panel. The sides are painted a creamy white, and it is ready for hanging. Because the cradle is deep, this painting can also stand on its own for a spot of whimsy on your desk or bookshelf. The “nest” was created with some paper from “The Girls’ Own Journal” 1892 – a periodical put out that features some truly amusing advice for girls on home management and how they should conduct themselves.
