Fiona – oh we will remember this storm for a very long time …. “Maelstrom” and “Aftermath” are my way to mark Fiona’s legacy.
“Aftermath” was completed during a 12 day power outage, luckily my studio has large windows and good natural daylight, made even brighter by the many trees that were felled by the storm. It is a heavily layered piece, reflecting the calm after the storm, with areas of chaos she left behind.
“Aftermath” is a mixed media work on paper, which has been mounted onto a deep cradled birch panel. It is ready for hanging as is – no need for framing.
